Water Bottle Rockets

We are embarking upon an adventure to create a water bottle rocket that will stay in the air for a minimum of 10 seconds. Through this activity, you will design, develop and engineer a water bottle rocket that will utilize many of the physics properties that we have learned about and a few others that you will need to learn on your own.

Here are some of the physics topics you will need to know and review:
  • Momentum
  • Rotational Inertia
  • Newton's Laws
  • Fluid Dynamics (for fins and stability)
  • Parachutes
There are also many tools and websites that will help you on this project, here are a few and be sure to "comment" on the future posts in order to collect our database of useful websites for this project. You can also navigate to the Water Bottle Rocket Wiki page for more information. Have fun!
